First-hand information at the DPMAnutzerforum 2015

Press release of 3 December 2015

Munich. It is the opportunity for representatives from industry and specialised associations as well as patent attorneys and lawyers to learn about the current services and the newest developments at the German Patent and Trade Mark Office (DPMA). About 200 users of the different DPMA services met today for this year's DPMAnutzerforum.

"You, the customers and users of our portfolio, are at the focus of today's event: your ideas, wishes and feedback are important guard rails for our work," said DPMA Vice-President Günther Schmitz at the opening of the event. Already in the run-up to the DPMAnutzerforum, interested circles were actively involved in the preparation of the agenda. Many of today's participants followed the invitation to submit proposals for topics around industrial property protection and copyright.

In addition to the presentation of current developments at the DPMA and in the individual departments as well as a report from the Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection, the user meeting's programme also included experience gained with the new IT system of the electronic case file in the field of trade marks, DPMAmarken, as well as technical trends. Another central topic, which was given much space particularly in the discussions, was the European patent with unitary effect, commonly referred to as "unitary patent".
